Animal pictures were taken on Silent Valley Game Ranch, situated
on the south western edge of the Waterberg Mountains, 10 Km south of Bulge
River, in the Limpopo Province of South Africa. The five thousand six hundred hectare ranch
has a very varied habitat. The altitude varies from 1100 metres above sea
level to 1335 metres above sea level at the highest point.
There are two perennial rivers. The Mamba River runs
through the ranch from east to west along the southern edge of the property
and the Manamane River runs from south to
north along the eastern boundary. The Bulge River begins its journey north
to the Limpopo, via the Mogol river, on Silent Valley ranch.
The nearest town is Vaalwater, 65 Kms away. Ellisras is 80 Kms to the north
and Pretoria 250 Kms to the south. Johannesburg is 300 Kms south of the ranch.
