 Checkers
is a Jack Russell Terrier
Checkers is one of our Jack
Russell terriers. He was born in November 1996. He is hyperactive
and cannot sit still for a moment.
He loves to go for walks and drives around the ranch. He often goes
down warthog holes to see if anyone is home.
Checkers will spend all day playing in water if given the chance.
His favorite toy is a ball.
Bullet is also a Jack Russell Terrier
Bullet was also born in November
1996. He is the senior dog on the ranch. He takes life very seriously.
He likes to think that he is in charge of all matters on the ranch.
He was once dug out of a hole he had gone down. An Aardvark was
down the hole and closed Bullet in. Bullet's barks from underground
helped us locate and save him.
Bullet, on an early morning walk, went down a warthog
burrow. The large warthog came rushing out of the burrow and gored
Bullet badly in his stomach. Luckily the wound was not too serious
and he has recovered well. He still has not learnt to leave warthogs
alone! Bullet has also been bitten by a baboon.
11th December 2003. Very
sadly Bullet died during the night. He had tried to chase a porcupine
out of the garden and the porcupine reversed into him, spearing
him with a quill right in his heart. He will be sadly missed by
all of us. R.I.P.
